When may I go to the Library?

The Library is open Monday thru Thursday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm and 7:00 am to 3:00 pm on Fridays.  A pass is required to come to the library during regular school hours.  Students may come to the library before school, after school and between blocks without a pass.

Where do I get a library pass?

You may request a library pass at the circulation desk for study hall blocks during the day.   Space in the library is limited. Those students who need to use the facility for classroom assignments will be given priority.  All students must sign in and out at the library circulation desk.

How many books may I check out?

Students may check out six books for three weeks.  Overdue notices are sent out every Monday morning through First Class e-mail. Books can be renew by coming into the library or through e-mail.  There are no fines for overdue books. Students are responsible for the prompt return or renewal of all books checked out. Students will be billed for books not returned or lost. Do not give a library book checked out in your name to a friend.  If the book is checked out to you, you are responsible for it. Bring it back to the library and let your friend check it out in his or her name.

What do I do if I need to go to my locker or see another teacher?

Please use the restroom, see a teacher, or go to your locker before coming to the library. However, if you need to leave the library for any reason, you must have a pass signed by one of the library staff or your teacher.  You must also sign out at the desk.  It is our responsibility to know where you are in case of an emergency.

What may I do in the Library?

Students may check out books, do homework, read books, magazines, or newspapers and use computers.  If you are using e-mail, or just browsing the Internet, you may be asked to give up your computer to a student who needs computer access for class work.  No chat rooms, internet messenger, social networks, or games are to be accessed on library computers.
